ubuntu 12.10 and xubuntu 12.10

Why do they update so slow??? 

After you install ubuntu 12.10 or xubuntu 12.10, you will open terminal and press "sudo apt-get update" in time. You find why update so long. I have tried to update wasting 30mins. So what can i do??
